Founded in 1892 as The Daily Star, The Toronto Star is Canada's highest-circulation daily newspaper, so when they approached AyA about redesigning their kitchen we were thrilled. It plays host to famous Chefs sharing their recipes and techniques, web features and cooking segments.
The layout and design presented challenges as the space has to accommodate multiple cooks as well as media crew along with all their equipment. Once a dark and dated kitchen in need of a camera ready makeover, it is now bright, sleek and modern in neutral tones. The colour palette shows up well on camera and adds longevity to the kitchen space. An accent glass shelf with LED lighting over the sink area adds visual interest for the camera and can be interchanged. Fully integrated fridge and dishwasher create a streamlined and tidy look.
